It’s a glamorous world Formula One; the cars, the speed, the fumes, the noise, the girls, the money, the danger, the beautiful people.

Try telling that to photographer Peter Fox, or Foxy as he’s known in the world of motor sport. The early morning flights, the 16 hour days, standing in the rain waiting for the perfect shot, seeing hotel-pit lane-hotel, then racing back to the airport to jump on a plane. Not so glamorous. It’s called the F1 circus for a good reason. It’s exciting, dangerous, travels around 18 countries each year and even has its own ringmaster, Bernie Ecclestone, a few animals and the odd clown, but shhhh, no names! With its constant transient lifestyle, Formula One still manages to evoke passion and feeling like no other sport and it’s Foxy’s job to convey the excitement and glamour of this travelling kaleidoscope through his photography.

Having worked in motor sport as a photographer for 20 years, he has a portfolio of images spanning some of the greatest characters in the business; Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Nigel Mansell to name but a few. He even managed to fit in a few years of Superbike photography in between his F1 work, snapping some of the great names such as Valentino Rossi and Troy Bayliss.

To most people, covering Formula One would be enough, but not for Peter. Foxy now also covers wildlife and travel photography, plus the odd wedding if he can be persuaded. In the off-season, he likes to travel to India, absorbing the atmosphere of the country through his lens, catching images of wildlife and people, examples of which can be seen on his website.

With such a broad talent, it’s no wonder that he has been in constant demand and has even worked for MTV on their Real World series. Other clients include McLaren, Williams, Ford, The Telegraph, Top Gear Magazine and the Indian Tourist Board, to name but a few.
